Nasotracheal intubation is commonly employed in the management of the respiratory distress syndrome of premature infants. One of its serious longterm complications is subglottic stenosis with partial upper airway obstruction. Such airway obstruction has also become a well-defined cause of cor pulmonale in childhood. A child demonstrating these complications is presented.
