S-adenosyl-methionine [SAM] was administered for 15 days i.v., at the daily dosage of 60 mg, to 15 patients affected by idiopathic parkinsonism in chronic treatment with L-dopa. The SAM favored the remission of akinesia, had an antidepressive effect, increased the anxious valences and was a manegeable drug, well tolerated with secondary side-effects of minute importance.
