An alcoholic solution of podophyllin at concentrations above 10% on guinea-pig udders, produces the same cytological effects in epidermal Langerhans cells as those by colchicine and Vinca alkaloid in culture cells. Langerhans cells are a suitable experimental model in vivo because of easy ultrastructural identification, migratory character and preferential localization in epidermis.
