Sources and transmission of Toxoplasma gondii infection in humans and animals are reviewed, as well as penetration of the parasite into the myocardium, and heart diseases with congenital and acquired toxoplasmosis. Symptoms, diagnosis, clinical picture, and histology of toxoplasmic myocarditis are discussed.
