The solid-solution phase diagram of the acetylcholine chloride-water system was investigated by thermal analysis (observing halts in warming curves). The phase diagram was mapped between -75 and 0.degree. C and between 0 and 16.2 mol % acetylcholine chloride. The salt forms a hydrate with at least 8 but less than 20 water molecules/salt molecule. The hydrate melts incongruently at approximately-44.degree. C.
