Normal structure of the bronchial tree, its vascularization and the lymphatic nodules of the pulmonary parenchyma were investigated in the golden hamster. Bronchi apparently have no cartilaginous support after entering the hilum and divide into 3-4 lobar bronchi in the right lung and 2 bronchi in the left lung, though the latter is usually not divided into lobes. Pulmonary arteries are typical elastic arteries with walls of equal thickness. Lobar arteries and their further branches are typical muscular type vessels. In the venules, the whole wall is folded. As venules passed into larger vessels, venous walls straightened out and myocardial cells appeared on their surface, at first in 1 layer, then in 2 or 3 layers. Myocardium in pulmonary veins passed into atrial myocardium with no distinct boundary. Lymphatic nodules aggregated in walls of lobar and segmental bronchi, in pulmonary parenchyma in the region of the pleura and along the venules. Nodules did not possess germinal centers, such as appeared in lymphatic nodules of lymph nodes.
