Methods of teaching histology and embryology to increase efficiency were discussed. Prediction validity of tests was expressed by expectancy tables or graphs, determination of the various probability zones, determination of the validity coefficient, theoretical expectancy, empirical expectancy and especially the timeliness of prediction. The tests with the best predictive validity were determined and incorporated into a test system. A diagnostic test evolved which allowed prediction of both the oral and the written part of the histology and embryology examination 8 mo. before the examination.
