Systematic measurement in the operating theatre of the functioning of aorto-coronary bypass grafts by flow measurement has allowed us to classify these procedures into various functional groups. These are decided by the distribution of the circulation through the graft and the status of the distal vascular bed. The results of such measurements taken in 100 bypass operations are discussed.
