The influence of regular training for gymnastics on the condition of the motor apparatus and several analyzers in gymnasts

The state of the nervous-muscular system and certain analyzers (auditory, visual and vestibular) were studied in 25 high- and low-skilled gymnasts at the age of 18-24 by recording a series of functional indexes. The experiments were conducted before training and for 20 min after it. A rise in special training skill of gymnasts apparently occurred mainly due to perfection of the nervous-muscular system activity and to an increase in functional stability of the vestibular apparatus. The functioning of the auditory and visual analyzers during performance of gymnastic exercises was less intensive. In beginning gymnasts the claims to the auditory analyzer were higher than in gymnasts of a higher category.
