Synthesis and the hypoglycemic action of alkane sulfaniloxamides and alkane sulfonilhydrazines of oxaminic acid

Arenesulfonyloxamide and arenesulfonylhydrazide derivatives of oxamic acid were characterized by high hypoglycemic activity and low toxicity. The synthesis and tests for hypoglycemic activity of the alkane derivatives of these sulfonyl compounds showed that the N-R substituted alkanesulfonyloxamides had the greatest hypoglycemic effect. The presence of an aromatic ring in the sulfamide molecule was probably not necessary for hypoglycemic activity.
