The poison gland of T. trivittatus charreyroni, when studied histologically, can be divided into 3 distinct regions: dorsal, ventral and median lobes. Six secretion products may be distinguished. Two are slightly acid mucopolysacharides, being exclusively found in the ventral and dorsal lobes. Two others, predominantly proteins, can be found all over the secretory epithelium, being dominant however in the median lobe. The last 2 secretion products are rare and difficult to demonstrate by the techniques used.
