With the advent of emetine and better recognition and treatment of choledocholithiasis, amebic hepatic abscess and common duet obstruction will not be as prevalent as the major causes of bronchobiliary fistula. The more unusual causes, such as trauma, syphilis, cancer, aseariasis and tuberculosis, will demand more attention. A case of primary hepatic cavitary tuberculosis with rupture through the diaphragm and formation of a bronchobiliary fistula has been presented. The fistulous tract was demonstrated preoperatively by the technique of percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography.
