Distribution of electrolytes (Na and K) in blood and tissues of albino rats was studied in the process of adaptation to a complex of unfavorable effects during long voyages on ships and in laboratory experiments modeling the effects of the unfavorable factors (temperature differences and chronic poisoning with ammonia). The adaptive character of the observed disturbances was established. Even under the effect of different factors, a common mechanism of electrolyte adaptation was found that is manifested in accumulation of K and decrease of Na content in the tissues. These disturbances may be a basis of the functional shifts in different organs and systems which often develop in sailors during voyages.
