A pregnancy complicated with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura was described. Treatment consisted of primary cesarean section, tubal ligation and splenectomy with good results for mother and infant. Subsequent successful pregnancies may be anticipated if the thrombocytopenia-complicated pregnancy was managed as described.
