The polarographic behavior of sera from patients in an ORL department was investigated by the Brdicka reaction. Patients with cancer or acute inflammation had significantly increased values. The arithmetic mean of these groups is enclosed by the scattering of the normal collective, and is of no practical use for diagnostic purposes.
